Carey McCray Richardson, Sr. passed into eternal rest Monday July 23, 2012, 1:26pm at his home in Jamaica Queens, NY.
He was born to the late Carey D. and Mildred C. Richardson. He began his early childhood education at Dunbar Elementary School in Newport News, Virginia and received his HS diploma from Huntington High in 1956. He served in both the Navy and Marine Corps and continued working with the Labor's Union Local 79 for 50 yrs.
He faithfully served in several capacities at Stuyvesant Heights Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Jean N. Richardson of 55 years; 2 sons, Carey Jr. and Andre, 1 daughter, Jennifer; 4 brothers, Milton Richardson, Otis Richardson, Spencer Richardson and Carl Richardson; 5 sisters, Cunice Richardson, Emma Farrow, Bernice Dillard, Mildred Smith and Sandra Martin
Memorial Service will be held Monday,July 30, 2012 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel 1601 27th Street Newport News, VA 23607 10:00-11:00 a.m.
